18: Between the tiger and the prey, who will hunt the other?

Inside the Icy Hut, the tension was at its peak.

Six figures surrounded a lone individual standing in the center.

On their faces, anger, greed, and the cold glint of murder could be seen, but the head of the Shu family was different. His eyes held a mix of shock and doubt.

For a while now, he had sensed something unnatural, as if hidden eyes were watching him. At first, he dismissed it as mere paranoia, but now… with Di’s sudden appearance, he was absolutely certain.

This young man was no ordinary person.

But… how?

At that moment, the silence shattered with a furious roar.

"You bastard! Who the hell are you?!" Lian family’s leader shouted, veins bulging with rage.

"How dare you steal our treasures right before our eyes?! Do you think we’ll let you leave so easily?!"

Di’s eyes narrowed slightly, still carrying the same calm smile, as if their screams were nothing more than passing breezes.

"Steal?" He spoke softly, yet his voice sliced through the air like a cold blade. "Do you believe you own these treasures just because you found them first?"

The fat man from the Han family sneered. "Hah? You’re just someone at the middle rank, yet you dare speak to us like this?"

The old man chuckled lightly, but his eyes were filled with disdain. "Let him talk. Soon, he won’t have a tongue left to speak with."

Then, looking at the others, he spoke in a quiet yet confident tone:

"He’s just an ant. We’ll tear him apart soon enough and take the treasures from his corpse."

Murderous intent flashed in everyone’s eyes.

But before anyone could act, Mo family’s head raised his hand, stopping them. He stepped forward, gazing at Di with a calculating expression.

"You’re not stupid, are you?" He said in a calm tone. "You know your chances of escaping are nonexistent."

Di didn’t respond.

Mo family’s head continued, "But there’s no need for you to die like this."

"Hand over the treasures and join us."

"If you do, we might just let you live."

Silence fell over the hut.

All eyes turned to Di, watching how he would respond to the offer.

A mysterious smile formed on his lips.

---

Without warning—

Whoosh!

Di vanished at an insane speed!

No warning, no flash.

In one moment, he was standing among them… and in the next, he appeared before the tall man from the Han family!

The man barely had time to raise his arms in defense, but—

CRAAACK!!

The bones in his arms shattered like dry twigs beneath an iron hammer!

A scream of agony caught in his throat before he could even let it out—

BOOM!

Di’s hand slammed into his head with brutal force. His skull exploded into fragments, chunks of brain and bone splattering across the icy walls like a nightmarish painting crafted by a demon!

Only a moment had passed since the battle began—

And the tall man was already dead!

His body twitched slightly before collapsing to the ground with a dull thud.

Silence.

Not just any silence, but a chilling, suffocating stillness—

The kind that lingers only in the presence of blood and death.

The eyes of the remaining five widened in horror. Their breaths trembled, and an unnatural cold crept into the depths of their souls.

How?

How could someone in the late rank die so easily?!

How could a mere middle-rank youth kill so effortlessly… so ruthlessly?!

This wasn’t how it was supposed to be!

He was supposed to be easy prey, supposed to beg for his life, supposed to die beneath their feet without resistance!

But now?

The expressions in the room shifted—

From anger to fear.

From mockery to deadly caution.

It was as if they had just awakened to a horrifying truth—

The one they had surrounded wasn’t prey… but a predator.

At last, the old man from the Han family broke the silence, his voice filled with anger, yet carrying a hidden trace of dread:

"Madman…"

"That bastard… is completely insane!"

But there was no time for words.

Because Di…

Had moved again.

Whoooosh!
