Chapter 4

Chapter 4: Fooling the Alien

“You’re asking for half my blood at once—I’ll die. I can’t agree to that,” Do Min-joon said grimly.

“We can negotiate. I can take a little less. How about 10,000 milliliters? Any less, and I’ll get upset,” Yang Yu replied with a smile.

“Can I ask you a few questions?” Do Min-joon remained silent for a moment before speaking.

“Go ahead. I’ll answer three. Think carefully before you ask—you only get three.” Yang Yu held up three fingers.

“Alright, first question: Who exactly are you?” Do Min-joon asked.

“I’m Chinese. Didn’t I already tell you that? You just wasted a question. You have two left,” Yang Yu said.

Do Min-joon was unsatisfied with the answer but had no choice—he couldn’t defeat this man.

“Second question: When did you find out about me? I rarely use my powers.”

“We’ve known since the moment you arrived on Earth.”

Yang Yu deliberately said “we” to make Do Min-joon believe there were more people like him.

As expected, Do Min-joon caught on.

“Last question: I’ve never harmed anyone in 400 years, and I’ve never left Korea. So why are you coming after me now, just as I’m about to leave? Why haven’t I met someone like you in all these years?” Do Min-joon voiced his doubts.

“That’s more than one question… But fine, I’ll satisfy your curiosity.”

“First, whether you harm people or not is none of our concern. As long as you don’t step foot in China, we don’t care about you.”

“Second, if you hadn’t stayed put in this tiny place, you probably wouldn’t have survived this long. The world is vast, and plenty of people could’ve killed you.”

“Lastly, since you’re about to leave, we can’t just let you live here for free all these years. Paying rent is only fair. After all, this place is a vassal state of China,” Yang Yu said with a grin, spouting nonsense to trick the alien.

He watched as Do Min-joon’s face turned pale from his words.

“Alright, you’ve asked your questions. Now, are you going to pay your rent?” Yang Yu asked.

“I’ll agree to your terms. But once I give you my blood, will you leave me alone?” Do Min-joon asked.

“Wrong. You will leave, and I’ll give you a day to transfer all your assets to me. I’ll leave you with three months’ worth of living expenses, and I’ll protect you for free until you leave Earth. No one will bother you. Sounds like a great deal, right?” Yang Yu said shamelessly.

Damn it. If you don’t leave, how am I supposed to change Cheon Song-yi’s fate?

“Fine. I just want to return home peacefully. I’ll agree. But can you guarantee no one else like you will come after me?” Do Min-joon asked warily.

“Relax. If I promise something, I’ll make it happen. I’m a man of my word,” Yang Yu continued his bluff.

It’s just me, a lone zombie. If I don’t mess with you, no one else could possibly beat you. What an idiot, he thought to himself with amusement.

“I’ll have Lawyer Zhang handle the transfer tomorrow. But how do you plan to take my blood? Do I just drain it myself?” Do Min-joon asked, resigned to his fate.

“I’ll take care of it myself.”

Yang Yu then transformed into his zombie form—his eyes glowed green, and his fangs extended before he sank his teeth into Do Min-joon’s neck.

(Biting alone wouldn’t turn someone into a zombie. Yang Yu had to willingly pass on the virus. If he didn’t want it to happen, the victim wouldn’t turn.)

He had no intention of turning this alien into a zombie. Do Min-joon was already powerful enough—if he became a zombie, he might gain the strength to challenge Yang Yu.

Yang Yu hadn’t expected to complete his first task so easily.

This alien was practically a freebie.

After draining 10,000 milliliters of blood, Yang Yu let go of Do Min-joon. The first task was complete. If Do Min-joon behaved himself, Yang Yu didn’t mind letting him live. He was no longer important.

But if he caused trouble and interfered with Yang Yu’s plans to change Cheon Song-yi’s fate, Yang Yu could eliminate him at any time.

Looking at the pale, weakened Do Min-joon collapsed on the ground, Yang Yu lost interest.

“Rest up and leave when you can. Find a quiet place to spend your last three months here. But don’t leave Korea—I can’t guarantee your safety if you do,” Yang Yu said casually.

Then, he vanished on the spot.

Realizing he didn’t understand Korean, he wandered around and found a bookstore, picked up a few language textbooks, and memorized them in an hour.

Turns out, his photographic memory was useful after all. S~eaʀᴄh the NovelZone.fun website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

With a mental sweep, he sensed that Do Min-joon had left.

As for where he went, Yang Yu didn’t care.
