Chapter 425 - 425: Auction

Jaegar raised his hand, and purple mist flowed out of him, forming two glistening swords, purely made from the purple mist.

Then, with a flick of his hands, they dropped down on Ethan's hands, cutting them in swift action.

Ethan was shocked, and he looked at his hands lying down on the ground beside him. His eyes widened, and shock instantly gave way to pain as he let out an ear-splitting scream. Blood trickled down on both sides, forming a puddle under him as he writhed in pain.

Jaegar walked to him and stopped before him. "I don't care if you heal them or reattach them, but if I hear about you staying in the capital or being around Lorcan…"

His next words were dripped with venomous threats: "I will cut you piece by piece, making you regret ever crossing me again."

Ethan was nodding profusely despite the pain; his eyes were filled with tears as he was crying with a running nose. He was a total mess.

Jaegar shook his head, sighing. He didn't understand why these people acted like fools when they were cornered and acted really mighty when they had power over others. Such complete stupids.

He walked out of the room and left the house.

-

As he walked out of the pleasure house, he entered the narrow streets, and that's when he felt something; suddenly he heard a voice, inside his head, "Hello, my dear darling." The sultry and seductive voice rang in his head.

Jaegar stopped in his tracks hearing the voice; he knew who it belonged to. So he calmly asked her, "How did you get in my head?"

Then she replied, her curvy form appearing beside him, "Did you forget that I am a high-level demon, the Succubus Queen?"

Jaegar, closing his eyes, sighed. "Oh, right."

"I guess you came for your payment then?" he asked, looking at her.

There was a presence in the streets. This side of the city was alive only at night. As it was day, not many were seen outside or on the streets. The pleasure district, was a place open only at night.

So, no one saw a demon appearing beside Jaegar, and she made herself appear in a human female form. Dressed in a floral gown, showing her curves and ample bosom. The slit to her gown started at the hip and went down to her foot, showing her thick thighs when she walked.

As they made their way out of the streets, she said, "Of course, I have been waiting for you. You know I have completed the task you have given too."

Jaegar nodded, "Yes, yes, thank you, my queen," he said genuinely.

Liliana chuckled, amused by his reaction. She put her hand around Jaegar, pressing her bosom over his shoulder as she whispered into his ear, "Then how about we start now?"

Jaegar suddenly stopped in his tracks, his piercing eyes fixed on the compound before him. Lilianna also stopped, still, her hand wrapped around his neck.

Jaegar was looking at the mansion, which exuded an air of affluence and secrecy, with its high walls and ornate gates. He barely registered Lilianna's annoyed grumbles beside him.

Seeing that he was not paying attention to her, "Hey, mister, now you're really getting on my nerves," she said, tightening her grip around his neck.

"Yes, I heard you, and we'll deal with your… payments soon enough," Jaegar replied, his tone dismissive. His attention remained on the compound as his lips curled into a faint smile. "But first, let's go on a sneaking-in date."

Lilianna frowned, her sharp features softening as her curiosity piqued. She followed his gaze to the mansion and noticed the steady stream of carriages pulling into the courtyard.

Her lips quirked into a smile. "A party?" she asked, amusement flickering in her eyes.

"Seems like it," Jaegar replied. "You don't mind, do you?"

"Why would I?" Lilianna's tone turned light and playful. "Human parties are my favourite. Come on, let's crash it."

-

The duo strolled toward the gates but was quickly intercepted by the guards. Their polished uniforms and no-nonsense expressions made it clear that uninvited guests wouldn't get past them easily.

"This is an invitation-only event," one of the guards said curtly.

Jaegar remained quiet, letting Lilianna take the lead. She stepped forward, her confidence radiating as she tilted her head and gave the guard a dazzling smile. Her crimson eyes glimmered, and her voice took on a sultry, melodic tone. "Oh, come now, surely you can make an exception for us, can't you?"

The guards exchanged hesitant glances, their resolve wavering under her supernatural charm.

Moments later, they stepped aside, muttering vague excuses to themselves about bending the rules.

Lilianna smirked, brushing past them with Jaegar in tow. "Too easy," she whispered.

-

The mansion's interior was grand, its opulence glaring in every polished surface and gilded detail. The main hall was dimly lit, casting an eerie ambience over the rows of chairs arranged before a stage. The air buzzed with hushed conversations, anticipation palpable among the attendees.

As they entered, a steward appeared to guide them.

Again, Lilianna leaned in close, her whispered words and enchanting aura quickly working their magic. The steward's dazed expression betrayed his surrender as he led them to a VIP section overlooking the hall. The vantage point offered a commanding view of the stage and the shadowed figures below.

Settling into their seats, Jaegar leaned toward the steward, his voice calm but laced with authority. "Tell me, what's happening here tonight?"

The steward hesitated, his lips parting and closing as though struggling against an invisible force.

Then, under Lilianna's steady, mesmerising gaze, he began to speak. "This… this is a private auction. Only the wealthiest and most influential are allowed to attend. The main attraction… is slaves. Humans, beast folk, elves—anyone valuable enough to fetch a price."

He gulped, adding in a low whisper, "It's highly illegal, held in secret under the noses of the capital's watch."

Jaegar's jaw tightened, though his face betrayed little emotion. Lilianna, on the other hand, looked unbothered, almost amused. "How quaint," she remarked, crossing her legs as though she were settling in for a play. Her dress slit opened, giving way to her luscious thighs. That man's eyes drawn involuntarily towards her now bare legs and his lustful gaze evident under her charm.
