Chapter 3600: Flying Bamboo

Wu Wei’s deep voice echoed out, saying, "The Qi family members have inherited Qi Zun’s bloodline and possess exceptional talent for cultivating consciousness, especially his direct descendants. I merely have a deep appreciation for such talent and wanted to teach him. It’s not my fault that the members of your Revolt Alliance lack any sort of talent. Otherwise, I would have taught your people instead."

Shi Lin angrily shouted, "Don’t think that I don’t know what you're doing! You want to create another Qi Gong, but that will never happen! You had better behave, or else you will meet a miserable end!"

Wu Wei did not reply. He had not expected Shi Lin to be keeping an eye on the younger members of the Qi family. How much time had passed since the Qi Gong incident? Wu Wei had only intended to teach some descendants of the Qi family, only to have already been discovered. It appeared that such attempts would not work in the future.

Someone spoke up from behind Shi Lin in a teasing tone. "Based on how upset you look, I would say that you’re not happy with Wu Wei. Would you like my help?"

Shi Lin’s expression changed drastically, and he spun around to see who was speaking to him. The sight caused his eyes to narrow. "Lu Yin?"

In the distance, Wu Wei’s consciousness trembled, and a flicker of killing intent appeared, though it was not seen. It’s him! The one I must kill.

Lu Yin smiled at Shi Lin. "What did you call me?"

Shi Lin’s eye twitched, and he paused for a moment. Then, he bowed respectfully. "Shi Lin pays respects to Seraph Lu."

Lu Yin nodded, and his eyes moved past Shi Lin to the area further ahead. "What happened with Wu Wei? What made you so angry?"

Shi Lin’s mind was in chaos. Why has Lu Yin come to the Consciousness Domain?

Lu Yin’s arrival was too sudden and without any warning at all. While the Seraphs had the authority to freely enter and leave the Consciousness Domain, they always announced themselves. However, Lu Yin acted without any manners. Unfortunately, Shi Lin could only think such things, as he did not dare mention these thoughts aloud, let alone question Lu Yin.

Lu Yin’s question needed to be answered, so Shi Lin replied, "Wu Wei wants to influence the younger members of the Qi family, the same way they did with Qi Gong."

Lu Yin shook his head. "That is going too far. Do you want to do the same thing again? Wu Wei, do you take Alliance Leader Shi Lin for a fool?"

Shi Lin’s eyes flashed, but he remained silent.

Wu Wei’s voice echoed from the distance. "Seraph Lu, why are you here? You don’t have any intentions of destroying the Consciousness Domain, do you?"

Lu Yin laughed. "Given that I’m now a Seraph, how could I destroy the Consciousness Domain? I could only do that if I’m no longer a Seraph."

Shi Lin looked over at Lu Yin. There was a hidden meaning behind his comment.

Lu Yin’s attention returned to Shi Lin. "Move back. I need to speak to Wu Wei."

Shi Lin frowned, and appeared to be a bit disturbed by this order. "Seraph Lu, Wu Wei is the guardian of the Consciousness Domain, by the High Seraph’s order."

"Stop talking." Lu Yin’s expression turned cold. "Either get far away or lie down. Choose."

Shi Lin’s face grew pale. He did not dare to hesitate a moment longer and knew that he had no choice but to leave. He needed to contact the Ascendant Hall immediately.

Once Shi Lin was gone, Lu Yin peered into the distance. In that direction, overwhelming consciousness was slowly approaching, like a monster crawling forward.

"I sensed your killing intent. So, you really want me dead?" Lu Yin arched a brow. Searᴄh the NovelZone.fun website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Wu Wei replied, "That was merely a bit of caution."

Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. "I can tell the difference between real killing intent and caution. If you want to kill me, I’m right here. Go ahead."

Silence filled the area. Consciousness gathered in what looked like dark clouds that continued to slowly draw closer. There was a hint of killing intent that was almost imperceptible.

Lu Yin stared at the vast consciousness. "Still not going to make your move?"

"Seraph Lu, I don’t want to kill you. My duty is to protect the Consciousness Domain. As long as you do nothing to the Consciousness Domain, I won’t attack you," Wu Wei solemnly stated.

Lu Yin chuckled. "You manipulated Qi Gong into stealing the White Willow, but you don’t want to kill me? Who would believe you?"

"That wasn’t me," Wu Wei denied. "Given that I now live in the Spirit Nidus, it would be pointless to make Qi Gong do such a thing. It’s also impossible for me to have known that you would appear before your arrival. If you hadn’t come to the Consciousness Domain, Qi Gong’s theft of the White Willow would have been the end of the matter. There was no possibility of the conscients being taken away."

Lu Yin nodded. "That’s precisely why the High Seraph hasn’t held you accountable for what happened. However, not having a reason doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. I once met someone who was trapped in a single universe. He could have left at any time, but he chose not to. Out of boredom, he either made life difficult for the local families or occasionally helped people without any reason, while causing trouble for others. Boredom can be a reasonable motive."

Wu Wei truly had manipulated Qi Gong out of sheer boredom. Of course, there had also been a hint of seeking revenge against Qi Zun. However, such revenge meant little. Really, Wu Wei had just been venting a bit of frustration.

Lu Yin had succeeded in deceiving both the Ascendant Hall and the Revolt Alliance into believing that Wu Wei and Sage Qian had been in contact with the outside world, and that they had plotted to take the conscients away from the Consciousness Domain. The Ascendant Hall had not held Wu Wei accountable for the incident, primarily due to a lack of evidence, but also because Wu Wei’s existence was too useful. The Luminary was far more valuable than all of the conscients that had been taken combined.

At a certain level, it became hard to consider the fact that Wu Wei could have done things simply out of sheer boredom.

At times, the more unreasonable the reason, the more likely that it was the true motive.

Wu Wei’s consciousness churned. "Seraph Lu, exactly what are you here for?"

Lu Yin replied slowly, "I already told you. I’m giving you the chance to kill me. I won’t resist."

Wu Wei was taken aback. "What do you mean?"

Lu Yin moved his fingers, and a spiral of karma twined about them. "I’ll tell you one last time: attack me."

Wu Wei really did want to kill Lu Yin, but the fact that the man was demanding to be attacked made the conscient uneasy. Furthermore, Wu Wei was not confident that they could kill Lu Yin. Previously, not even Heaven’s Blade had been enough to kill Lu Yin. The man already had a clear understanding of Wu Wei’s strength, and given the circumstances, Wu Wei’s success was completely impossible.

"Just what do you want?" Wu Wei’s voice grew more solemn. They felt as though there was some scheme being enacted against them, which was quite frustrating.

Lu Yin frowned. "If you won’t attack me, then you can’t blame me for attacking you."

With that, spirals of karma gathered, and Lu Yin attacked Wu Wei with a Wheel of Karma.

The last time they fought, Wu Wei had only resorted to Heaven’s Blade after Lu Yin had attacked them with a Wheel of Karma.

Lu Yin did not know whether or not there was a connection between the two, but his goal was to force Wu Wei to use Heaven’s Blade again. Lu Yin wanted to see the unforgettable scene of the lands of karma again. Specifically, he wanted to find out if there was a connection to the strange scene that he had witnessed on the Day of Offering.

Wu Wei grew increasingly nervous. "Seraph Lu, don’t push me."

Suddenly, the looming consciousness contracted. Wu Wei did not want to fight Lu Yin, but the killing intent that locked onto the conscient was unbearable. The Skyshearer Millstone fell, ready to crush Lu Yin from above.

At the same time, Lu Yin’s consciousness formed a Skyshearer Millstone over his own head.

The two impacted each other, one falling onto the other. At the same time that the Skyshearer Millstone moved, the Wheel of Karma shot out.

Right at that moment, another consciousness attacked from the side. While this consciousness was far weaker than Lu Yin or Wu Wei, it was still enough to draw Lu Yin’s attention. Shi Lin had attacked, and he was not alone. With him was Jiu Xian.

Jiu Xian moved in front of Wu Wei, and she stood there, facing Lu Yin. "Seraph Lu, why aren’t you in the Hundred Grasses Domain, awaiting your battle with Emperor Wu? What are you doing here?"

Lu Yin did not stop attacking. If Jiu Xian was present, there was no problem continuing. She was another Dukkhan, and Lu Yin was curious to see what his Wheel of Karma was capable of.

Jiu Xian had not expected Lu Yin to continue attacking. As the Wheel of Karma drew closer, she retreated. She could not see the attack, but that only raised her sense of caution. In particular, after her first brief encounter with Lu Yin, she knew just how powerful the young man was.

The Wheel of Karma shot forward, and Lu Yin remained focused on Jiu Xian.

Two bamboo sticks appeared in Jiu Xian’s hands, each about the size of her palm. She knocked them together, and the scene before Lu Yin shifted. Time stretched into an endless sea of ages, flowing like a dream, an illusion. Bubbles surfaced and burst, each one resembling the collapse of a world.

Lu Yin momentarily held back due to his surprise. "Second Image?"

Jiu Xian had cultivated the fifth-ranked sequence technique, Second Image. It was the same as Mister Li.

Lu Yin released his inner universe and repelled the sequence particles.

Jiu Xian clapped her bamboo sticks together again, but her sequence particles were unable to get close to Lu Yin. She casually tossed the two bamboo sticks, and one transformed into a bamboo dragonfly that flew towards the Wheel of Karma, while the other flickered in and out of sight as it shot at Lu Yin.

In Lu Yin’s eyes, the bamboo flying towards him was tiny, microscopic to the point of being almost invisible. However, it suddenly grew to instantly cover the entire universe, overshadowing everything. There was no way to avoid it.

On Jiu Xian’s part, she could not stop the Wheel of Karma. It passed right through her bamboo dragonfly, which caused her expression to shift yet again, as she was forced to retreat.

Her hand reached into the void, and she grabbed the flying bamboo sticks.

Regardless of how small or large the bamboo became, it could not avoid her reach.

There was a snap. Lu Yin had grabbed the bamboo shooting towards him and crushed it. Several cuts appeared on his palm. The piece of bamboo carried immense power, and it had succeeded in tearing through his flesh.

The fact that the piece of bamboo was able to tear through Lu Yin’s flesh indicated that very few people in the three megaverses were capable of standing up to Jiu Xian.

The Wheel of Karma continued to close in on Jiu Xian.

In front of her, a portal appeared, though it flickered in and out of sight.

Lu Yin hurried to stop the Wheel of Karma. If he continued the attack, she would simply step into the portal and leave, just like last time.

As for Wu Wei, the conscient had already fled. The moment Jiu Xian intervened, Wu Wei had fled from the Consciousness Domain. Most likely, the conscient had escaped to the Ascendant Hall.

"Your methods are quite impressive, Seraph Lu. I hope to see more when you face Emperor Wu," Jiu Xian stated as she stood in front of her portal. She pulled out a wine gourd and took a long drink.

Lu Yin looked at her. "Why are you here?"

Jiu Xian shrugged. "I intended to simply leave after the Day of Offering, but then I remembered something. I was about to return to the Ascendant Hall and speak to the High Seraph, but I suddenly received a message from the Consciousness Domain. They said that you, one of the Seven Seraphs, had come here to bully these people. With that, the High Seraph asked me to come here and mediate."

Lu Yin did not believe a word of it. "There’s no chance that the High Seraph sent you here."

Jiu Xian blinked. "Why not? If you don’t believe me, you can always ask him."

"Don’t worry, I will," Lu Yin replied.

The High Seraph had always tolerated Boundless’s existence.

He claimed that it was because Master Qing Cao required Lu Yin’s cultivation of karma, preventing him from intervening.

Yet the more Lu Yin thought about it, the more he suspected another reason.

The strange scene during the Day of Offering made Lu Yin recall the seven lands of karma. He began to wonder if the High Seraph’s true objective lay there.

Otherwise, why was no one else able to see that scene?

The High Seraph had not just tolerated Lu Yin’s presence in Spirit Nidus; he had even allowed him to ascend and become one of the Seven Seraphs.

Everything seemed to converge toward a singular purpose.

What appeared to be Lu Yin’s disruption of Spirit Nidus was, in truth, well within the High Seraph’s grasp.

His true purpose had to be far deeper than it seemed.

Lu Yin had approached Wu Wei to test what sort of reaction the High Seraph would have. Lu Yin had guessed that the High Seraph would not interfere at all. Even if Lu Yin was allowed to attack Wu Wei and shatter the Consciousness Domain again, it would just further confirm his suspicions.

Jiu Xian showing up was entirely unexpected. Is it really just a coincidence? Jiu Xian, Feng Bo, the lands of karma, the strange scene...

Seeing that Lu Yin was determined to return to the Ascendant Hall and get to the bottom of the matter, Jiu Xian rolled her eyes. "What a petty man. It’s such a waste that Palace Master Yao and Qing Yun are serving you as maids. If you have questions, then ask them quickly. I have things to do, and I need to leave.

"Also, don’t bully the Consciousness Domain. These people are all pitiful."
