Seven Sins System Chapter 426. You Have Summoned Me, Remember?
The trio turned to me again.
Darren spoke first, his voice tinged with worry. “Are you okay, doc?”
Barry quickly put his hand on my forehead to check for a fever.
“Is your illness getting worse? Do you need a break? Should I take you to the infirmary?” Searᴄh the NovelZone.fun website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
Ion, frowning, nudged Barry. “He’s the infirmary doctor, you idiot. If he could heal himself, he would have done it a long time ago.”
Their genuine worry was almost touching, but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to mess with them a bit.
I let my face turn cold, adopting a serious, almost sinister expression.
“Actually…” I began slowly, watching their reactions, “I laughed because I finally found you guys.”
They exchanged bewildered glances, clearly not understanding what I meant.
An evil smile crept onto my lips, and I continued, “You have summoned me, remember? And you guys have been playing with me…”
As I expected, they turned pale, the color draining from their faces as realization dawned.
Barry quickly withdrew his hand from my forehead and started to back away, eyes wide with fear.
“Oh, no…” Darren muttered, his voice trembling.
Ion, also stepping back slowly, stammered, “A-are you the devil? Are you the one who possesses Doc’s body? Is that why your attitude has changed recently?”
I stepped forward a bit, moving slowly and deliberately, like an undead rising from the grave. “Am I?” I said, my voice low and menacing.
They continued to back away, their fear evident in their wide eyes and hesitant movements. It was almost too easy to scare them, but the look on their faces was priceless.
Barry, his voice shaking, said, “We… we didn’t mean to… it was just a joke, you know?”
Darren nodded vigorously, his gaze darting around as if searching for an escape route. “Yeah, just a harmless prank!”
Ion, trying to muster some courage, said, “Doc, if you’re really a devil, you wouldn’t hurt us, right? We’re your students.”
With a subtle flick of my wrist, I activated my barrier skill. A transparent, shimmering wall materialized behind the trio, cutting off their escape route.
They backed into it, confusion and panic flashing across their faces. When they turned to see what they had hit, their eyes widened in shock as they realized their path was blocked by my barrier—something I had never used outside the battle before.
“This guy summoned me in frustration,” I said, pointing to myself with a cold smile, “and I decided to take over his body. I never thought I would meet you again. I will be happy to punish you.”
Their faces went pale as they pressed their backs against the barrier, their fear intensifying. They looked at me with wide, terrified eyes, curling up like a bunch of cowards.
“No, please, no!” Barry pleaded, his voice trembling. “We’re sorry, sir devil!”
“Yeah, we didn’t mean any harm,” Darren added, his tone desperate. “It was just a mistake!”
Ion stammered, “Please, we’ll do anything! Just don’t hurt us!”
I decided to take the prank a step further before revealing the truth.
“You think you can summon a devil and get away with it?” I said, my voice low and menacing. “There are consequences for your actions.”
Barry whimpered, his eyes filling with tears. “We didn’t know! We’re so sorry!”
Darren, trying to shield Barry, said, “We’ll do anything you ask. Just please, don’t punish us.”
Ion, shaking like a leaf, added, “Please, just give us a chance to make it right.”
I stopped in front of them, looking down at the trio as they crouched and curled up in fear. Their expressions were a mix of terror and regret.
I couldn’t hold it in any longer. A deep, hearty laugh burst from my lips.
At the same time, I snapped my fingers, canceling the barrier skill. The transparent wall shattered into pieces, and they fell backward, sprawling on the ground in a heap.
Their wide-eyed expressions of shock turned to bewilderment as they looked up at me, still laughing uncontrollably. Slowly, they got to their feet, dusting themselves off.
Ion was the first to recover. “Don’t scare us like that, doc!” he exclaimed, his voice louder than usual. “You almost scared us to death!”
Darren shook his head, a wry smile tugging at his lips. “Seriously, that was intense. You really had us going there.”
I shook my head from side to side, still chuckling. “You guys are scared but you’re the ones playing around with the devil summoning formation. That’s another level of stupidity.”
Their expressions shifted from shock to irritation.
Ion scowled, crossing his arms over his chest. “Man, that was mean.”
Darren nodded, still looking a bit shaken. “Yeah, we didn’t expect you to pull something like that on us.”
Barry threw his hands up in the air. “I’m never going to live this down.”
I smirked, enjoying their reactions. “But seriously, what did you think was going to happen when you messed around with something like that?”
Ion shrugged, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. “We didn’t really think it through. We were just curious, I guess.”
Darren nodded in agreement. “Yeah, we thought it would be cool to see if it actually worked.”
Barry, still looking a bit embarrassed, added, “We didn’t expect it to actually, you know, summon anything.”
I shook my head, amused by their naivety. “Well, let this be a lesson. Don’t mess with things you don’t understand. You never know what might come of it.”
