Chapter 487 - 487: Arrival of Luck

"Haa! Haa!"

Zeus crossed to the left and right—he was being chased by so many people that he could barely keep up with the pace—in the end, he got surrounded.

"Haha!"

Zeus leaped over them all, and then, within his right hand, lightning started crackling like never before.

"Aura Fusion—Lightning Sea!"

He landed in the middle of all the people and touched the ground with his lightning hand—the grass under their feet turned into blades of lightning, and a powerful shockwave surged through the area, electrifying everything in its path.

"Aaaargh!"

"I-I am being electrocuted!"

They could feel the electricity coursing through their bodies, causing them to convulse in pain, and some of them passed out.

However, most of them shook off the lightning and jumped Zeus from all directions.

"We're the greatest talents of our countries. Do you think little lightning is enough to put us out of the fight?!"

Zeus smirked and clutched the ball close to his chest—then he got tackled down to the ground—they tried to rip it out of his hands.

However, he was able to keep possession of the ball for three more seconds—very valuable seconds—which gave him enough points to rise to third rank in the rankings!

The people around him started fighting for the ball—punches and kicks flew—they looked like a bunch of mall-goers fighting over the last Black Friday deal.

On the large screen on top of the stadium, the timer reached the final ten minutes, and the audience's excitement grew.

"To think that it has already been fifty minutes. It has been such constant action that I hadn't paid any attention to the timer!

"Only ten minutes remain, and so far, only 99 people have received points. It's surprisingly low, and so far, over two hundred people don't have a single point!"

Joanna looked frantically around the field—she looked tired, and her heart pounded in her chest as she desperately searched for a way to earn some points before time ran out.

She was chasing after the ball carrier, but so were three hundred other people, so she hadn't even reached close enough to the ball carrier to take the ball.

When she tried pushing through the crowd, she just got pushed aside.

"Come on… I just want the ball for a second. Please!"

She cried out.

'Please, all I need is luck. Let the ball come in my direction once, please, just do this for me!'

Within the crowd that was chasing after the ball carrier, a silent-looking Kiernan watched as the ball carrier got tackled and lost the ball.

"Mine!"

Sun Jupiter caught the ball once more, and with a grin, he ran away, but he didn't get far, and the ball got smacked out of his hand.

And then, Seo Donghae took the ball from the air, but he got immediately surrounded, and the ball got taken away from him.

It didn't matter how talented one was—when being chased by three hundred other talents from all across the world, it was nearly impossible to keep hold of the ball.

The last five minutes started.

"The ball is mine!"

"Yes, I finally got the ball! Shit! Was holding the ball for half a second enough to get points at least?"

"You top rankers have had the ball already enough. Let the rest of us get points too!"

The ball flew across the air and landed in the arms of one lucky representative, and she was able to keep hold of it for a few seconds before losing it again.

Four minutes remained.

"How has it already been almost an hour?"

"Shit! Shit! Shit!"

"This event is bullshit. In proper combat, I would beat all of your asses any day of the week!"

The panic spread across the crowd—the dawning realization that they might leave the first event without points—it made them try even harder to get the ball.

Three minutes remained.

Kiernan pushed through the crowd and reached his hand towards the ball, but it got smacked away by someone else and flew to a different part of the field.

"Haa… haa…"

Kiernan breathed heavily, and he wiped the sweat off his forehead—it also wasn't looking good for him—he had been actively trying to get the ball for the last ten minutes.

It hadn't been very successful.

'This isn't working.'

Kiernan sighed, closed his eyes, and listened to the sound of his martial soul—it was quiet, yet ever-present.

'Luck will come… Child of fate…'

Kiernan breathed, opened his eyes, and slowly walked behind the crowd—he wasn't running anymore—but it wasn't because he had given up.

Two minutes remaining.

The ball got bounced around the representatives like a pinball, and at that moment, a strong-looking young man caught the ball and started running away.

"I'll take it from here!"

Roi Rageur yelled as he charged through everyone who stood in his way—he had shoulder-length blond hair, and his eyes blazed in blue fire.

"It is nearing the final minute of the first event, and the ball is now in the possession of Roi Rageur of Flambe. A country known for its wine vineyards and the fields of purple lavender in full bloom!"

However, at that moment, Roi got kicked in the head and got sent flying through the crowd of people.

The ball flew out of his hand, and the bunny-eared girl caught it with ease, a cheeky smile coming across her face.

The audience turned speechless.

"A bunny girl? I thought Animal Kingdom residents weren't allowed in these human tournaments? What is going on!"

The audience whispered among themselves, but then, the commentator shouted.

"The ball is in the possession of Luz Serena of Lilylandia—it is the border country between the Martial World of Humans and the Animal Kingdom!

"Lilylandia is known for some of their inhabitants being part Animalkin, part human. Some say they have the best of both worlds.

"Since Lilylandia is officially considered one of the Martial Arts Countries, anyone born there can participate.

"Luz Serena's mother is a bunny girl, but her father is pureblooded human, so she is allowed to participate!"

Luz crouched, and with a sweet smile on her face, she jumped across the air—her jumping power made everyone's eyes widen in shock.

"That's Animalistic Instinct! This is insane; how is that fair? Normal humans can't do that shit!"

"Haha, stop complaining!"

At that moment, Sun Jupiter brushed through the complaining representatives and slowly started to fly off the ground.

"I was born on God Island. Thus, I can fly!"

He caught the jumping Luz, and while her eyes widened in shock, he tried to rip the ball out of her hands.

"No, you won't get it!"

Luz screamed, but as they fought over the ball, it suddenly slipped out of their hands and started flying back to the ground.

"…"

Standing below the falling ball, Kiernan's pupils dilated, and the ball was coming straight towards him—the luck had arrived.
