Chapter 357 - 357: Crystal Magi.

The core was occupied by a large prawn. The prawn had a tiny, white, translucent shell similar to those of the juveniles. But it was far bigger than a juvenile.

The prawn was too large for its shell. Its shell was more of a hat, so it couldn't escape into its shell, much less use it to house others.

The prawn itself was so large that it filled up half of the core of the shell. Since the height of the shell was around 6 meters, the prawn had to be 3 meters tall. That was even though it was lying on the ground.

When it rose up to greet them, it towered over them so much that it looked like it was about to attack and eat them.

The librarian said to them, "Welcome to my humble abode. I am the one known as the Crystal Magi."

The prawn didn't speak with them sound waves. It spoke to them directly in their minds.

It wasn't the intrusive and violent mental communication that he had had with a true god. It was more of a gentle flow of information into his mind. It was harmless.

Kelvin bowed and returned the greeting, "On behalf of the Yggdrasil civilization army, we are happy to be here."

He spoke while the translator translated what he said for the librarian to hear. He was respectful in his speech because he didn't want disrespect to affect his mission and because the librarian was very powerful.

He could sense that the librarian was at the SSS rank. What's more, all of its power was concentrated in its mind. It was a formidable being that he had to be wary of even if he didn't know that it was the leader of a community.

The librarian hummed slightly in satisfaction after he greeted it. Then it said, "I could have spoken to you anywhere in my city and even outside of it. So there was no need for you to enter the city and see me if all I wanted to do was communicate with you."

"But I wanted you to see my city and know its structure so that you would know what you're attacking when you attack other settlements. So I made you see every inch of it. What do you think of the city?"

In terms of defense and attack, he thought that the city itself was remarkable. Not only can the wayfarer be easily defended, but it can also move and attack. It was a mobile fortress capable of devastating damage on its own. Sёarᴄh the NovelZone.fun* website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

When combined with the mental assistance of the librarian, the wayfarer gains a massive perception boost. It gains a surveillance system, an alert system, and a means to utilize its massive magnetic manipulation power to attack at a long range.

So all in all, the city had defense, reconnaissance, close-range attack, and long-range attack capabilities. It was no wonder why they didn't have a standing army.

He said all of these to the librarian. It made the librarian laugh.

It said, "When I asked that question, I thought you would reply with judgment based on your aesthetics and taste. I thought you would comment on the beauty of my city or the nature of our culture or our standard of living. I didn't think you would go straight to our fighting potential. I guess that's why you're a warring people and we are farmers."

After laughing, it said, "What you said about our fighting potential is correct. What you might be missing is that we lack fighting experience. We Kunuts rarely fight each other. We are a peaceful people."

"Most Kunuts die of old age. Rarely do they die of injuries or are they killed. If there is any fighting, I and the city fight for them and defend them. Even if they have to leave the city to replenish our resources, it is for a short while, and we are always protecting them."

"But the bloodsucker changed. It turned docile Kunuts into ravenous beasts. It made us now have the need to defend ourselves from our fellow Kunuts. It also made us proactive in attacking them in order to resist the blood slaves or save other Kunuts from their bites."

"Unfortunately, neither I nor the city is equipped to attack other cities. Unless a city is very weak, we won't be able to overwhelm its magnetic field to injure it. The defense of each city is just too tough. We urgently need a way to break into a city. I hope you have the solution for that."

Kelvin answered in the affirmative, "Don't worry about that. We have a solution to that problem."

The librarian was glad to hear that. Its limbs waved about in the air as it said, "Good. I hope that we will have a wonderful cooperation."

He nodded in agreement. "I hope so too."

With the introductions done, the means of cooperation was sorted out next. The wayfarer was to transport them across the planet while the librarian will serve as their eyes and hears.

Librarians have the power of telepathy, while the wayfarer has the ability to control magnetic fields. The two of them can work together by fusing mentally which expands the range of the telepathy of the librarian and increases the power of the control of magnetic fields of the wayfarer.

The job of these two is to find vampires and vampire-infested cities. With the range of telepathy of the librarian reaching up to 10 kilometers around the wayfarer,

When they find a target, the humans are deployed to break open the shell and infiltrate the target. Once they gain access to a target, they can easily kill the wayfarer, which will remove its defensive magnetic field and also stop it from leaving. At that point, the mission is all but successful.

After ironing out the details, Kelvin returned to his soldiers. On the way there he thought to himself, "I wonder if I can cut this shell with a diamond blade."
