Chapter 259 - 258: Could You Wait A Little Bit?

"The Gaze Eternity Realm?" Qianye Ying'er's eyebrow lifted. "Aren't you going to break through first?" Sёarᴄh the NôvelFire(.)net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

She thought the reason he left the cave in the first place was because he wanted to undergo Tribulation. Why did he suddenly want to go to the Gaze Eternity Realm?

"No, my Tribulation will attract too much attention. I'll wait a bit longer," Yun Wuji shook his head and didn't explain further. He did want to break through, but he couldn't do it just anywhere. The Gaze Eternity Realm was along the way, so he figured he might as well check if they were there.

He didn't know the exact location of the Wood Spirits, he only knew that they were massacred in the Gaze Eternity Realm when they met the Southern Sea Realm's Crown Prince. So he wasn't even sure if they were in the Gaze Eternity Realm yet, and even if they did exist, he still needed to search every corner of that realm.

He was just planning to search casually and try his luck. If he found them, that would be good news. If not, he could always send someone else to handle it after finishing his grand plan.

This city was very close to the Sword Burial Sect, the sect of the realm king. It was known as Sword Hilt City. If one looked at it from the sky, they would see the entire city split into three distinct parts like a massive cross, forming a shape that resembled the hilt of a sword.

The city was enormous, teeming with a large population, and nearly everyone carried a sword openly at their hip or back. Unlike typical cultivators who stored weapons in spatial artifacts, true swordsmen kept their swords close, like extensions of their very limbs.

The cityscape stabbed skyward with towering structures, most shaped like inverted swords, their pointed roofs gleaming in the sunlight. Between these blade-like towers stood the occasional grand palace, though these were far outnumbered. A large portion of the people in the city were here for the entrance examination.

In a way, this city was like the Freezing Snow City.

When Yun Wuji saw this scene, he remembered the time when he participated in the entrance examination. It had only been about half a year, but so much had happened that it felt like a long time had passed.

However, the scenery here was still far inferior to that of Freezing Snow City. After all, 90% of the population in Snow Song Realm was female, and most of them were beauties.

On the other hand, Qianye Ying'er didn't bother looking around. Compared to the splendor of the High-ranked Star Realms and King Realms, this place looked like the countryside. She glanced at him and asked, "Why did you come here? Are you planning on plundering the sect treasury?"

Ever since she saw Yun Wuji's broken ability to absorb crystals, she began considering plundering other forces. He might have refused her offer, but as long as she kept thickening her skin and offering him support, he might eventually change his mind. The fact that he no longer minded her following him was proof of her 'effort.'

In fact, she didn't even need to plunder other sects, since she still had a large amount of resources and treasures with her. Unlike in the novel, where she had given everything to Gu Zhu before leaving, this time she still kept all her possessions. If she had known she'd be disposed of, she at least would've cleaned out the treasury before leaving.

"No, I just wanted to take a look. I'll leave soon," Yun Wuji shook his head. Plundering... cough, protecting a middle star sect? That was something he could have done a few months ago, but now, he didn't need to bother with that.

With the support of his greatest sugar mommy, Chi Wuyao, Yun Wuji was never short of resources. If he needed anything, he could simply ask, and one of the witches would send it directly to his body.

In fact, he had already done so.

As they moved through the city, they overheard people talking about some upcoming competition. It seemed to be a ten-year competition for the young geniuses of the sect to compete against each other.

"I remember you said you use a sword too. Want to join the fun?" Qianye Ying'er cast a glance at him as she asked. She almost curled a strand of hair around her finger, then remembered her hair was still short and quietly lowered her hand.

"No. What fun is there in fighting a bunch of weaklings?" Yun Wuji refused flatly. Honestly, he was already being polite by calling them weaklings instead of trash. Though he technically belonged to the younger generation, he never once thought of competing with them. From the moment he was born, he never saw anyone his age as worthy opponents.

Back when he first arrived in the God Realm, he had to act humble, putting on a fake, obedient face just to avoid trouble. But now that he'd gained a firm foothold, he no longer had to pretend or tiptoe around others. That overbearing narcissism he had buried deep inside was finally starting to bubble back to the surface.

"Oh? Are you saying your sword skills are really that good?" Qianye Ying'er asked.

"Heh, I'm not bragging, but I can say with certainty that no one can come close to my level," Yun Wuji said with a cocky smile on his face as he walked forward.

In the back of his mind, he couldn't help but mutter, 'Why is there a competition on the same day I came here? Could it be... I'm really the main character? Maybe tomorrow there will be an auction? And next month a catastrophe?'

"..." Qianye Ying'er had only asked casually; she didn't expect him to use it as an excuse to show off. "So you're saying your skills are even better than that old man Jun Wuming?"

"That old man's not bad, but still far from reaching my level," Yun Wuji replied casually, glancing at her. "The only thing worth mentioning about him is his Sword of N—"

"How arrogant!" a loud, angry shout suddenly interrupted them.

When they turned to see who it was, they found a beautiful young woman dressed in white, her piercing gaze fixed on them with such fury that it seemed as though they had desecrated her ancestors' graves.

However, their gazes didn't linger, they flickered over her for only a moment before shifting to the figure beside her.

It was an old man, draped in black robes, his face fair and serene, almost gentle in appearance. Yet his hair was stark white, like freshly fallen snow. His eyes held a deep stillness, placid as an ancient well untouched for ten thousand years.

He returned their stares with a mild smile.

This was the man they had just been speaking of, Jun Wuming, a Level 9 Divine Master!

If it had been before, when Qianye Ying'er was at her peak strength, she would have sensed him long before he had the chance to approach.

When there's a significant difference in strength between two people, the stronger one can easily remain unnoticed unless they deliberately release their malicious intent.

Upon seeing Jun Wuming, Qianye Ying'er's pupils constricted. Her first thought was to grab Yun Wuji and use the Blood Escape.

But Yun Wuji was much calmer. He glanced at the two of them, unbothered, and said, "Calm your tits, little girl. Why are you shouting so loudly?"

"You! You!" Jun Xilei was already furious because these two had badmouthed her master. When she heard Yun Wuji's words, her anger flared even more. She was so livid that she could hardly speak. Her chest rose and fell sharply, her hands clenched into fists, and her face was completely red.

Yun Wuji glanced at her chest, then looked away with a faint trace of disappointment. Don't get him wrong, she wasn't flat or anything. She had a decent figure by all standards. It was just that, after spending so much time with women who could crush watermelons with theirs, his sense of scale had gotten a bit... skewed. At this point, anything short of "weapon-grade" felt underwhelming.

"What 'You'? Who the fuck are you, and don't you know it's impolite to eavesdrop on people?" Yun Wuji gave her a dismissive glance, then looked toward the old man. "You're Jun Wuming?"

Seriously, why did he keep running into Divine Masters lately? First Shui Qianheng, now Jun Wuming.

What the hell is the author cooking?!

"Yes, it is this old one," Jun Wuming said in an indifferent voice as he gently patted his disciple's shoulder.

"Master, this guy!" Jun Xilei had somewhat calmed down, but she still gritted her teeth as she exclaimed, her anger barely held in check.

"Lei'er, you can't just be angry at every insignificant person's words," Jun Wuming said gently. A doting look flashed in his eyes as he glanced at her. He didn't care that the young man had spoken about him, but he couldn't ignore it when his disciple was treated rudely. In his eyes, she had been wronged, if only because of Yun Wuji's rude and dismissive tone.

He had traveled through more than half the star realms of the Eastern Divine Region for countless years, searching for a satisfying successor in his twilight years. Because of that, he was extremely doting and protective of her, treating her like a treasure he had carefully chosen.

"Let's go," Yun Wuji ignored both of them and said to Qianye Ying'er, then turned around to leave. As he walked, he thought to himself, 'Maybe I can use this to my advantage, hehe.'

They had barely taken a single step when a sharp sword aura erupted around them, its oppressive force rippling through the entire city. The sudden pressure sent alarmed shouts echoing through the streets as citizens scrambled for cover. Jun Wuming's voice boomed like thunder through the charged air, "Young man, I don't like your attitude."

'This is bad, why does this guy keep provoking him?' Qianye Ying'er grew anxious. She was already injured; she didn't want to suffer more harm, or worse, die. Her revenge plan hadn't even started yet! However, on the surface, her expression remained cold and indifferent, as always.

Yun Wuji turned around, glancing at the old man with a casual look. "Could you wait a little bit?"

"Wait? For what?" Jun Wuming frowned, clearly confused about what this young man was planning.

Yun Wuji stretched out his hand and casually said, "A fuck will fall into my hand, and I can give it to you."

"..." Qianye Ying'er.

"..." The crowd.

"..." Jun Wuming, Jun Xilei.

'Hurry, attack me, attack me!' Yun Wuji shouted inwardly. His plan was actually very simple, it couldn't even be called a plan. He just wanted to provoke the old man into attacking him, forcing Qianye Ying'er to use the Blood Escape again.

Once she did, she would lose even more blood essence, and her strength and aptitude would fall drastically once again. At that point, she would have no choice but to face reality and accept his offer. As for the possibility of her not taking him with her? That was almost impossible. The moment she decided to use the Blood Escape, it would mean that his value to her had risen even higher.

Jun Wuming and Jun Xilei were both ridiculously arrogant at this point in time, especially Jun Xilei. People constantly sucked up to her because of her master, and as a result, she had started to act like a little bitch.

However, even so, every profound practitioner who reached the Divine Master level (at least on paper) had gone through the survival of the fittest and countless competitions to prove themselves. None of them were simple characters.

They each possessed their own opportunities, advantages, trump cards, and secrets.

At 50,000 years old, Jun Wuming was wise. It's just that lately, he had become too accustomed to indulging his disciple, falling into the trap of complacency and making mistakes.

Back in the novel, if it wasn't for Mu Xuanyin giving him a much-needed wake-up call, and Yun Che delivering a reality slap to that bitch, neither of them would have gone one-dimensional obstacles into to supporting characters.

It took them a while to fully understand the meaning behind his words. Once they did, Jun Xilei's eyes flared with rage. She drew her sword and roared, "I'll kill you!"

Jun Wuming's old face twitched. Ever since he became Sword Sovereign, no one had dared to show him this level of "respect." He quickly stopped Jun Xilei and was about to personally take action, however just as he lifted his finger, a powerful aura locked onto him.

Immediately, Jun Wuming's body froze, and his eyes narrowed. The aura was incredibly strong, about on par with his own. The owner of this aura made it clear that if he made a stupid move, they would attack as well.
